Christmas is an exciting time for me, because I love to cook. There are so many gifts I can make for friends and wonderful treats to serve guests. Mind you an episode of “Grumpy Old Women” comes to mind, when they made fun of women getting out the baking utensils that have never been used, to try and put on a good show. Some people even resorting to buying jam and re- packaging it with little material tops with ribbon to look like they made it themselves! Quite a good idea really.

This is such a simple recipe, the hardest thing is shaping the pears. I think they look very cute in small cupcake holders. I might use plain red next time. They are gluten and dairy free for anyone on a restricted diet.
