I am not someone who goes out of my way to cook or eat alternative foods. However when I heard on Twitter about Quinoa, I thought, that sounds interesting! So I made a trip to a health shop and bought a packet of this mysterious little grain that is supposed to have  health benefits and is full of protein. Quinoa can be used in salads, as a side dish like couscous or as a ingredient in a pudding that can be served for breakfast of dessert.

I found it very easy to cook with. It is important to rinse it well and then sieve.

Quinoa is gluten free.

1 cup of Quinoa

3 cup of milk

1 cup of cream

1 vanilla bean

1 cinnamon quill

1/4 cup of honey

1 pinch of salt

Wash and sieve the Quinoa until the water runs clear.

Heat milk and cream add vanilla bean, cinnamon quill and honey allow to simmer for 10 mins.

Remove vanilla bean and cinnamon quill and add quinoa and simmer for thirty minutes stirring occasionally.

Sprinkle a few blue berries on top and enjoy.
