You may remember the post I did when I interviewed Mr Merrill J Fernando better know as Mr Dilmah. Here is the link if you would like to read it. During the interview Mr Fernando mentioned the opening of a concept store and I was asked to visit the Dilmah t house at the Gold Coast. I was very ethusiastic and went down to have a look.
From the moment you enter t house at Harbourside Market you can feel your body begin to relax and the calming atmosphere is just the beginning of the experience that you are about to enjoy. This is Australia’s first Dilmah T House and it is part of a new complex at Biggera Waters called Harbourside Market. t house specialises in fine teas and tea gastronomy. The high tea I enjoyed was simply divine. When you are seated, your tea is prepared for you and brought to your table. Preparation includes your tea being timed with a tea timer, of course. This is followed by the tiered high tea. On the first level delicate ribbon sandwiches and a mini lamb pie, and the next level a tea infused macaron and fruit scone with two delicious gourmet conserves.
When you have finished sipping your tea you can wander around and enjoy all the tea and other homewares that are for sale. The range of Dilmah t house tea is extensive and the staff are very knowledgeable about the products. As a special promotion, if you mention that you have read about t house on Everydaycook the staff will give you a 15% discount on the retail products.
This is the kind of venue that you could book your next celebration or call in every week just for a bit of special time.
The Harbourside Markets are full of all sorts of wonderful retailers and I’m sure you will enjoy the visit. The Casagrande’s have invested in this high class retail outlet and it gives people like me a chance to enjoy the experience of food shopping with retailers that share our passion. I think they deserve support from the community so that we are not only left with a few big supermarkets to choose from.Share on Facebook
